In July of 2015, headlines abounded concerning a study that, according to some writers, answers the question of what a “good-looking male organ” looks like. The notion that there is an ideal male organ appearance is problematic for a number of reasons, including the fact that it objectifies men and causes undue distress for them. Sensual health can suffer from anxieties around the manhood, and it’s important for men to address those issues.
Still, there were some interesting results of the study in question, and they are worth noting.

Some facts

The study consisted of only 105 women between the ages of 16 and 45. The women assessed photos of 20 male organs, and researchers ranked the features that were most important to the women.

One-hundred-five is a small sample size, so this study can hardly be said to offer anything conclusive in the way of “what women find attractive.” However, the results do make quite a bit of sense.

The point of the study was to gather some evidence concerning whether one’s assessment of whether a male organ was good-looking or not was affected by the shape of the meatus, the opening of the urethra. Ten of the male organs photographed had received surgery to reposition the meatus, which was congenitally mal-positioned behind the manhood head. The surgically repositioned meatuses were shaped differently than the others.

Results

Study after study finds that women aren’t too concerned about male organ size, but men still don’t get it. For them, it’s often a bit of an obsession and a significant source of distress. This study found male organ length to rank fifth out of seven factors influencing ideas about a good-looking male organ.

The following ranking resulted from the study:

1) General cosmetic appearance

2) Appearance of groin hair

3) Girth/appearance of skin (tied)

4) Shape of male organ head

5) Length

6) Appearance of sack

7) Shape and position of meatus

The first factor, “general cosmetic appearance,” is too vague to really say much about, but it’s notable that tidiness and skin condition are list-toppers, as much as or more so than any anatomical feature. Though the study certainly has its limitations, it does reinforce the importance of cleanliness and attention to detail, which are things any man can work on (unlike size and shape).

Finally, men who receive corrective surgery on the meatus need not feel self-conscious about how their members look, the study suggests. And that makes sense – a well-kept male organ is a beautiful thing, squinty meatus or not.

What guys can do

While getting all hung up on how the male organ looks isn’t healthy, there’s nothing wrong with wanting it to be as beautiful as it can be, particularly when one considers what is healthy to be beautiful. Trimming the hair is totally a matter of personal preference, but sweat-prone guys benefit from taming the shrub, keeping the area cooler and preventing bacteria buildup that can lead to odors. Keeping the hair tidy can also cut down on instances of jock itch, a nasty fungal infection that causes an itchy rash in the region.

Another crucial factor men ought to pay attention to is skin condition. Smooth, vibrant skin is delightful to the eye and to the touch. More importantly, healthy skin is less prone to infection, as cracks in dry skin can provide harboring grounds for viruses, fungi and bacteria.

Keeping the skin in peak condition is made possible by using a male organ health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil). Natural moisturizers like Shea butter and vitamin E join forces to hydrate the skin, getting rid of any dryness or flakiness that may be affecting the manhood. Using a lotion made specifically for the male organ will ensure that guys are showing their members the extra love they deserve, and a man’s attention to detail is likely to be noticed and appreciated by his lover.

Some curvature of the manhood is common, but when one has a severely bent male organ, it can cause some significant issues for a man. There can be many causes of excessive curvature, and sometimes the medications a man is taking contribute to this condition. In order to ensure proper male organ health, men need to know a little about Peyronie’s disease, as excessive curvature is often called.
What is Peyronie’s disease?

As stated above, many men have a small or modest degree of curvature to their manhood when it is tumescent. This is not something to be concerned about. Many women find a degree of curvature quite aesthetically pleasing or exciting. As long as the curvature does not interfere with a man’s sensual pleasure, he usually need not be concerned.

In some cases, however, the bend is so extreme that sensual activity and enjoyment are negatively affected. When the source of this bending is a build-up of plaque or lumps in the member, it is typically diagnosed as Peyronie’s disease.

Type of curve

Peyronie’s is not associated with a particular type of curve. It may bend up, down, to the left or to the right; the direction does not matter in terms of diagnosis. Sometimes, plaque builds up on both the top and bottom of the organ; in these cases, it may cause the manhood to become somewhat shorter than it would otherwise be when firm.

Pain

In some instances there is little or no pain associated with Peyronie’s, but in other cases stiffening of the member may cause substantial pain. It is also not uncommon for a man with Peyronie’s to experience some pain or discomfort during sensual activities.

Conversely, some men report that the build-up of plaque actually causes a “deadening” or loss of some sensation in the male organ. This often interferes with their sensual pleasure.

Causes

There are a number of things which can cause Peyronie’s. Trauma to the member is a common cause, occurring when the member experiences rough handling or a sharp blow. There is also an association between Peyronie’s and gout, heart disease and diabetes.

Many doctors also believe that some medications and supplements can be contributing factors to this bent male organ condition. Among the medications which are considered to be possible contributing factors are:

– Beta blockers. Many people with high blood pressure and/or heart disease are prescribed a class of medicines called beta blockers to help deal with these issues. Beta blockers are associated with fibrotic tissue disorders, which include Peyronie’s disease. If a man is using a beta blocker and suspects that there may be a connection with Peyronie’s in his case, he should discuss alternative medication options with his doctor.

– Anti-seizure medication. Some medicines used to control seizures, such as phenytoin, are also on the Peyronie’s cause list. Again, discussing possible alternative with a doctor should be considered.

– Interferon. Interferon is often used in treating multiple sclerosis, as well as such conditions as leukemia and hepatitis C.

A severely bent male organ, due to Peyronie’s or other causes, can be an issue for many men. If medications are adding to the problem, and others can safely be substituted, this will be a substantial help. However, a man may also want to use a quality male organ health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil) to restore and maintain the organ’s health. (Even men without Peyronie’s can benefit substantially from a first-rate crème.) Those crèmes with acetyl L-carnitine are preferred; this is a neuroprotective ingredient which helps with peripheral nerve damage, such as that associated with Peyronie’s. Acetyl L-carnitine can assist in restoring lost sensitivity to the member. Another important ingredient in a crème is alpha lipoic acid, a potent antioxidant. Alpha lipoic acid and acetyl L-carnitine have a synergistic effect, and can offset harmful oxidative damage to manhood cells.

From an early age, the firm male organ becomes a man’s special best friend. Over the course of his lifetime, a guy spends quite a lot of time with this firm friend. He’s there in the morning when a man wakes up and pops up regularly throughout the day. Hopefully, every guy is taking steps to ensure the best male organ care for this special pal so that he stays happy and healthy. And part of proper care is just knowing a few basic facts about a firm male organ.
With that in mind, here are a few things that a guy may or may not already know about his tumescent member.

1) Scientists classify tumescence in three categories.

To most guys, a member is firm or it isn’t. Scientists, though, like to be more specific and so use three different categories when discussing firmness: reflexogenic, psychogenic and nocturnal. Basically, reflexogenic means a firmness caused by some form of physical stimulation. Psychogenic describes a firmness created in response to one’s own fantasies and thoughts. And, not surprisingly, nocturnal are those stiffies that pop up while a guy is sleeping.

2) Boys get tumescent while still in the womb.

With all the ultrasounds and various other gadgets now used for monitoring the fetus, doctors have discovered that little boy fetuses start getting firm somewhere around 16 weeks of age. Well, guys will be guys.

3) The male organ needs a decent amount of blood to get firm.

As most men know, a rush of blood into the member is what causes the organ to swell and stiffen. An average of 4.5 ounces of blood is needed to achieve the tumescence process. For the area involved, that’s a fairly large amount.

4) Doughnuts can make a guy excited.

That may seem strange, but a study indicated that the smell of baking doughnuts can increase blood flow to the member by about 13%. It may not produce a full-blown tumescence, but it does cause a bit of stirring down there.

5) Men average about 14-16 tumescences in a 24-hour period.

There is variation in this, of course, and some teen-agers may feel that they never stop having a tumescent organ. But studies show that the typical man has 11 firmnesses while he is awake during the day. At night, he will have 3 to 5 more during his sleep phases.

6) Tumescences have something in common with electricity.

This may seem odd, but nitric oxide, which increases the blood flow to the member to create a firmness, is produced by lightning in nature. (Fortunately, there are many other ways to get nitric oxide other than being struck by lightning.)

7) More firmnesses are good for a man.

“Use it or lose it” is true for male organ health as it is for many other things. Having sensual activity, whether with oneself or a partner, helps maintain the proper functioning of the organ. So using those tumescences helps to keep the manhood in better health.

Firm male organ facts are fun to know and share, but they are also very important. The more a man knows about his member, the more able he is to be comfortable with it and keep it healthy. One excellent way to maintain that health is via the regular use of a top-notch male organ health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil). Choose a crème with L-arginine; like the lightning mentioned above, L-arginine is part of the process that creates nitric oxide, which helps keep manhood blood vessels open. It also helps to use a crème that includes vitamin C. This vitamin’s health benefits include being an important structural component of blood vessels and aiding in collagen production for male organ tissue firmness. Using a crème like Man1 Man Oil has important benefits for any man.
